

Many people have helped out as cabin leaders (counselors), maintenance assistant, cooks, lifeguards, wranglers, or nurses. Roseau River Bible Camp would like to publicly thank all of the past and present staff and volunteers who have contributed to the camp ministry. Many people have come to know their Lord and Saviour here at the camp and have left forever changed. As many ordinary people have served Him faithfully, the Lord has blessed the camp tremendously and turned Mr. Throughout the year, the camp hosts numerous retreats and rental groups.Īll the glory goes to God. An average of nearly 1,000 campers have attended the past few summers, while many potential campers are placed on waiting lists. Specialty camps such as Paintball Camp, Horsemanship Camp, BMX Camp, Kayak Camp and Wilderness Camp have been added to compliment the existing program.

The camp has continued to grow remarkably. The James River Camp is set on beautiful grounds located an hour and a half east of James River Church South Campus (30 minutes northeast of Mountain Grove, MO). Amidst the excitement and optimism, the Camp Board unveiled a ten year expansion plan to ensure that the ministry at RRBC would continue with vision and a firm foundation.

This year was also special because the camp was able to pay off its mortgage and was now free of debt. Not only was it the tenth anniversary of the move to Roseau, but for the first time, summer camp registrations exceeded the 800 mark. The year 2002 was a milestone for the camp. One year Carol and I went to James River Bible Camp, she as an assistant horse handler, I as a junior cabin counsellor. A new basketball court was added in 1997 and the new swimming pool opened in 2001. Sometimes we were involved in summer camps, always with vacation Bible school. Week-Long Resident Camps, Adventures, Trips, Skills Camps, and Day Camps. Additional housing was created by the building of fourplexes. Summer Camps at Camp Bethel in Fincastle, VA. In its first decade at the Roseau River site, the camp experienced tremendous growth and facilities were expanded to meet this growth. That number nearly doubled to 603 the following year. In the augural year at Roseau River, 332 campers attended the summer camp sessions. The site also featured new cabins, a waterfront along the river, and stables for the horses. The new site featured a new main lodge that included a dining room, chapel, office, and washroom facilities. Over the course of the week, participants will explore the James River Park. In 1992, the camp program relocated to the new site along the Roseau River. Our camps are led by the Richmond regions top aquatics professionals. Malo, the camp grew quickly, with an average of 250 campers attending annually. Development began on a 143 acre piece of land located three miles west of Roseau River, Manitoba.Īs the present site was being developed, the summer camp program was held at the Nazarene Bible Camp (Lakeshore Bible Camp), located near St. After an extensive survey of Southeastern Manitoba, CSSM concluded that a Bible Camp at Roseau River was indeed necessary. After his vision was shared with friends, Canadian Sunday School Mission (today known as One Hope Canada) was approached to see if developing a camp at Roseau River would be feasible. Because we are a ministry of the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church (UMC), participation of people of all backgrounds, ability levels, heritages, and faiths is encouraged.Roseau River Bible Camp began with the vision of Mr. Our mission is one of healing and acceptance towards all God’s people. Campers participate in a variety of activities including Bible class, music, science, arts and crafts, games, dancing and special activities. The staff and volunteers of Camp Rainbow are dedicated to providing a wonderful and enriching summer program for each camper, along with a week of respite for families and care givers. CRC is currently held at Richard Bland College in Petersburg, VA and is resourced by the Serving Ministries Office. CRC grew to two weeks while at the Blackstone Conference and Retreat Center. That first year, there were 25 campers and a small staff of 15 volunteers. CRC started in 1985 at Westview on the James, a camp of the Charlottesville, Rappahannock River, and Richmond Districts of the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church. Camp Rainbow Connection is a week-long respite camp for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
